Travis, I heard about your website when I was browsing the WMZQ Country channel website for upcoming concerts...As I read your story, tears came down my face and I wanted to say that you are a true hero and words cannot describe the ultimate sacrifice you made in Afghanistan...You have such a great attitude on life and despite the circumstances, you are keeping your chin up and a smile on your face...You are truly an amazing man and it's so touching to see that so many people including friends, family, communities who have been giving you moral support and are there for you every steps of your recovery...My older brother was a US MARINE for 15 years...By the way, me and my brother are originally from France and moved to the US 23 years ago to learn English and moved here with our grandparents and w...God bless you, your wife Kelsey and your daughter Chloe and keep up those spirits!!! I admire your courage and you really inspired me and many others!!! Take care, Sandrine

I'm a former Red Devil from the 2d508th (1974-78) and I just wanted to let you know, that you and your family are in my prayers daily. I wish you could have seen the number of people who came out to honor you on 7/28/2012 in Dallas. The roads were lined by people standing waving flags in the 100+degree Texas Sunshine. All the Way my Brother, ALL THE WAY.

Travis, I hope you've had a good week. I'm sure you have been working hard and pushing yourself forward. I think of you, Kelsey, and Chloe often and keep you all in my daily prayers. Keep up the good work and you will accomplish your goals. This past week on the local news it was announced that two young men from our surrounding area made the ultimate sacrifice in Afghanistan for our country so there are many grieving hearts. Again, I say thank you for all you have done for us and for the many sacrifices you and your family have made so we can live the lives we enjoy. God bless you and those you love.

I am amazed, after all that you have been through that you have the attitude you do, you may end up at 6'4" again but your way taller in my book. You are an inspiration to the rest of us sir.

Travis - I was deployed at the same time as you. I was the OIC for an R&R flight shortly following your accident. I had watched the news online and heard about your horrific accident, yet amazing morale. The R&R flight consisted of Soldiers stationed at the same FOB you were in when the accident occured. They told me the story of your accident and the way the entire installation rushed to help you the only way they could..by donating their own blood. As this senior NCO told your story... and the way the Soldiers came together to assist.....tears ran down his cheeks thinking of the sentiment. I wanted you to know how much people care about. You are truly an inspiration, and I am extremely proud of you!!

Found out about your story because of the ride yesterday and watched some media coverage. I will keep this short. First and foremost thank you of course for defending my freedom but for also being the example you are today. See I just lost the 5 toes are my right foot and became extremely depressed until I heard of your courage. So I'm missing some toes and you part of some limbs. But this is OUR new reality! and today because of you I am a bit more greatful! We both have so much to carry on for. Thank you. A grandma from DFW.

Travis, I saw your interview with Jenna Lee and you look great! I just wish the interview had been longer. I also saw you and the other wounded warriors on America Live with Megyn Kelly on July 4th. The segment was so appropriate for that day. We were celebrating the independence that you and your brothers and sisters in arms have preserved for us and continue to do so today. I have watched the videos several times because I never get tired of hearing your inspiring stories of courage, bravery, and strength to get through what you all have endured. You and your fellow wounded warriors are an inspiration to us! We may think we have bad days sometimes but it is nothing compared to what you have all been through. I hope you, Kelsey, and Chloe enjoyed your stay in New York. Continue to stay strong for each other and my prayers continue for you.

Cathy Grindell said:   July 8, 2012 12:36 pm PST

I'm from your home town of Vassar. I have watched your recovery with shared tears and awe at your courage and strength. You remain in our prayers. Thank you for your service and sacrifice, never think it was for nothing or that it isnt appreciated. My cousin chris esckelson died in Irac right before his 23rd birthday. I understand committment and sacrifice. I am so grateful you were able to come home. Not the way you wanted and it wont be easy, but your wife and daughter and family and friends will be here for you, even strangers like me, who just are grateful and understand freedom ISNT free. THANK YOU!!!
